Dimitrios Serpanos is Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras and President of the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus.”
His current research interests include architecture of embedded and cyber physical systems, cyber security, Internet of Things and industrial systems and networks.
His work experience includes teaching, research (in the public and private sector), prototype product development, field trials and consulting to the public and private sector for technology development as well as for strategic planning for research and advanced development of products and services. He has held management positions in academia as well as in industry.
Dimitrios is the Chair of the ARTEMIS Scientific Committee.
He served as Secretary and Treasurer of the IEEE Computer Society (2020 and 2019, respectively). He has served as member of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Computer Society (2017-2020).
